THYROID SUPPORT

Generally indicated for low thyroid function, this formula has proven to be extremely helpful in promoting normal thyroid performance.

~ Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus): is effective in the treatment of underactive thyroid glands. It regulates thyroid function and treats obesity which can be a result of thyroid imbalance. Bladderwrack supplies minerals and trace elements, such as iodine, which is beneficial in hypothyroidism due to the lack of iodine in the body.

~ Nettles (Urtica dioica): have a high concentration of vitamins and minerals and a wealth of nutrients making this an excellent, all-round nutritive tonic herb and highly beneficial when used as an extract for hypothyroid conditions. They are very high in protein and vitamins A, B's, C, K calcium, magnesium, chromium, phosphorus, potassium, iodine, iron, selenium, chlorophyll and acety-choline. Nettles nourish, alkalize, purify, and build the blood as well as control /prevent hemorrhaging. They also cleanse the digestive tract, removing protein wastes, regulate
metabolism and aid in blood circulation.

~ Hawthorne Leaf and Berry (Crataegus oxycantha): both work to nourish and tone the heart and circulatory system. They help maintain healthy arteries, veins and heart by enhancing the connective tissue structure of the heart lining, blood and lymphatic vessels. Hawthorne has also been used for its diuretic properties, its ability to dissolve deposits and promote weight loss. This herb is highly beneficial for those with
with low thyroid function. It stimulates circulation, strengthens the heart muscle, regulates blood flow and blood pressure, as well as heart rate by gently dilating blood vessels. Hawthorn is helpful for all cardiovascular conditions, including the aging heart, heart weakness, and nervous palpitations. Further, it increases the heart's ability to utilize oxygen, relieves restlessness and insomnia. Among its impressive list of actions, Hawthorn is considered a cardiac tonic, helpful for functional and organic heart disorders including angina pectoris, valve murmurs, valve insufficiency, arrhythmias, enlarged heart, endocarditis, mitral regurgitation, congestive heart failure, feeble or rapid heart beat, heart strain from overexertion, difficult breathing due to lack of oxygen and deficient heart actions, and cerebral circulatory problems. It lowers cholesterol, contains antioxidant properties and is a source of nourishment for the heart by increasing blood supply to the cardiac cells. The flavonoids in Hawthorn affect calcium metabolism, enhancing the ability to support a normal heart rhythm.

~ Watercress (Nasturtium officinale): is a superior food remedy which is also detoxifying and nutritive to the body. It builds blood and produces a systemic metabolic regulating action. On an endocrine level watercress restores, nourishes and detoxifies which in turn addresses and corrects thyroid deficiencies.

~ Chickweed (Stellaria media): increases digestive qi, promotes absorption, restores the blood and relieves fatigue. It also promotes urination, stimulates the thyroid and promotes weight loss.

~ Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinalis): is a food herb high in vitamins A and C, and minerals, especially iron, calcium and potassium. It tones and decongests the liver and gallbladder, stimulates digestion, reduces indigestion, constipation, gas and bloating and supports the kidneys by being an effective and safe diuretic which preserves potassium and inhibits the reabsorption of sodium. This diuretic influence helps to also promote weight loss, which is beneficial for those with low thyroid activity.

~ Oregon Grape Root (Berberis aquifolium): has a stimulating effect on the thyroid. It is a beneficial tonic for all the glands and it aids in the assimilation of nutrients.

~ Lavender Flower Essence: restores body and emotions when depleted by nervousness and overstimulation.

~ Rescue Remedy Flower Essence: brings inner calm and stability in times of stress, distress, trauma and emergency.

~ Scleranthus Flower Essence: balances fluctuating moods and body functions.
